Boileau

Mayor of Timmins
Ready for What’s Next

Over the past eight years, we’ve built real momentum for Timmins. But there is still more work ahead – strengthening neighbourhoods, supporting families, growing our economy, and creating opportunity close to home.
Let’s keep building Timmins – together.

— where care drives change.

"I’m a lifelong Timmins resident, a proud francophone, and a mother raising my family here at home. A  proven leader– I’ve served our community for the past eight years"

Mayor Michelle Boileau is the 10th person to serve as Mayor of the City of Timmins and has served on municipal council since 2018. As Mayor of one of Northern Ontario’s five largest cities and a regional service hub, Michelle understands the importance of investing in the infrastructure, services, and opportunities that help residents, local businesses, and industry thrive.

During her term in office, Michelle has prioritized public safety by supporting security and outreach pilot projects, expanding the City’s safety improvement grant, and advancing Timmins’ encampment outreach and response plan. She has led council to record investments in road maintenance, finalized the Golden Manor redevelopment, and helped unlock new housing development through a city-led subdivision project, housing incentives, and partnerships to expand the CDSB housing portfolio

Born and raised in Timmins, Michelle is a proud Franco-Ontarian committed to promoting local heritage, culture, and community pride. As Mayor, she has strengthened the City’s French-anguage communications locally, provincially, and nationally. Her professional background in education, employment, and immigration services continues to shape her work promoting economic growth, inclusion, and cultural diversity.

In addition to serving on several local boards and committees, Michelle is Chair of the Northern Ontario Service Deliverers Association (NOSDA), serves on the Board of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM), where she chairs both the Standing Committee on Social Economic Development and the Francophone Municipalities Forum, and has served as President of the Association francophone des municipalités de l’Ontario since 2023.

Above all, Michelle is proud to be the mother of her six-year-old daughter and two-year-old son.
